Team 3184, Blaze Robotics, from Burnsville High School is working to set FIRST ablaze in our community by lighting up students' passion for STEM.
FIRST Robotics Competition is a program that prepares students for future success by providing extreme challenges and giving the support and mentoring so the students meet those challenges. What seems like fun - building a robot - disguises the skills of problem-solving, teamwork, public speaking, writing, engineering design, programming education and the confidence to fail and try again.
FIRST Robotics is the hardest fun you'll ever have.
The game is afoot! Actually this year's game is all about needing arms. We need to design and build a robot that picks up bins and stacks them. Sound easy? Then come on down to the shop and help out! See Upcoming Events for build days and times.
Thanks to some great help, the new robot has overcome its electrical problems and is ready to continue build in preparation for the Mini Minnie tournament on November 22nd. We've also gained a bunch of new members who have jumped in enthusiastically and are adding a lot to the team!
With build season still a few months away, the team is preparing for fall competitions, cleaning the shop, helping with FLL and FTC teams and welcoming new members, mentors and sponsors.
Build Season has started! We meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10-4 in the basement Robotics shop. Come check out the action!
